      ■ Second development in the world, expanding marketing to precision instruments and pharmaceutical companies in Europe and Japan

On May 25, LS Cable & System (President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung) announced that it has developed e-Flatek™, a non-static electrical cable system specifically designed for clean rooms.

e-Flatek™ suppresses non-static electricity to minimize dust build up that occurs when a cable moves. This is the second development in the world following a company in the U.S.

In order to suppress dust build-up, cables used for precision measurement and production devices in a clean room use Teflon as a sheathing material instead of the usual polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

The problem with Teflon is that it generates more than ten times the static electricity compared to PVC, thus causing occasional errors in the device or otherwise lowering precision.

LS C&S uses its own insulation material technology to block electricity and heat from moving through the cables to lower electrical resistance and thus suppress static electricity.

The company will be expanding its marketing efforts targeting precision instrument and pharmaceutical companies in Europe and Japan, as well as local semi-conductor and display companies.

President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung of LS C& S said, “LS C& S is consistently investing in R&D for high-tech cable materials and products to prepare for the future.”

LS C&S is also making efforts to secure drivers for future growth through developing a high-voltage harnesses for electric cars, ESS components, HVDC cables, etc.
