      Title LS Cable & System initiates consulting service for electrical grids for first time in Korea

      ■ Safety diagnosis service for transmission lines in electricity grids and plants 
      ■ Increased interest in stable operation of electricity grids related to national security
      ■ Diagnosis of partial discharge, overheating, exterior/vibration
       
      On June 4, LS Cable & System (President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung) announced that it will be carrying forward its consulting service for electric grid operation targeting local and overseas electricity grids and plants.
       
      This is the first comprehensive consulting service in Korea made available for the entire power system. The service includes monitoring for abnormalities in generation plants, substations, transmission lines and electric grids among substations of plants, and provision of solutions.
       
      President & CEO Roe-hyun Myung of LS C&S said, “Electric grids are the core infrastructure that is also related to national security. Interest regarding stable operation of electric grids is increasing focusing on local electricity grids and large-scale industrial facilities. This is how we came to carry forward with this business.”
       
      This service consists of monitoring for partial and abnormal discharges of electrical transmission and diagnosis to prevent accidents, monitoring and diagnosis of cable temperatures to prevent fire, and exterior/vibration monitoring and diagnosis to sense external shocks to machinery resulting from nearby construction, etc. to detect and prevent abnormalities, etc.
       
      LS C&S will be providing precise services by using fourth industrial revolution technologies, such as AI based on big data covering power usage patterns by industry as well as monitoring of heavily used cables according to electrical grid installation environment, etc.
