      ■ Next-generation power stabilization solution to lead the renewable energy and AIDC market
      ■ A signal flare for preempting the high value-added market and advancing into the global market

LS Materials (CEO Hong Young-ho) announced on the 29th that it held a shipment ceremony for its new power stabilization product, the LS UltraGrid.

The LS UltraGrid is a rack-type ultra-capacitor (UC) system capable of stably supplying megawatt (MW) power. It is expected to be supplied both domestically and internationally to stabilize power supply for renewable energy facilities, such as wind and solar power plants.

Recently, with the expansion of renewable energy generation, the problem of power instability is growing due to fluctuations in output. The LS UltraGrid is attracting attention as a key technology that can solve these problems by supplying MW-level power in less than 0.1 seconds.

Rack-type UC systems are being introduced in large numbers, especially in Germany and elsewhere in Europe, and the global market is expected to grow to KRW 100 billion in 2026 and KRW 500 billion in 2030.

“The LS UltraGrid can be used in various fields that require large-scale power, such as renewable energy facilities, AI data centers (AIDCs), and energy storage systems (ESSs),” said Hong Young-ho, CEO of LS Materials. “We will continue to expand its application scope in the future.”

The LS UltraGrid is the first product developed in Korea by LS Materials based on medium-and-large-scale UC technology. Globally, only a very small number of companies have successfully commercialized this product. The company evaluated that this shipment provided an opportunity to dominate the high value-added market.
